As a naturopathic doctor, I understand the value of natural remedies for promoting wellness. Magic socks, also known as wet socks, offer a simple and effective method to relieve colds and congestion.

Why Magic Socks Work: Magic socks therapy leverages hydrotherapy, which utilizes temperature changes to boost circulation and immune function. This promotes blood flow, enhances lymphatic drainage, and aids the body's defence against infections. Magic socks are best used at the onset of a cold, with sinus congestion or

to help regulate a mild fever.

The benefits of magic socks include: better circulation and blood flow, less inflammation in the nasal passages, throat, and sinuses, improved sleep, and temperature regulation.

How to Use Magic Socks:

1. Gather Supplies: You'll need thin cotton socks, wool socks (or thick cotton socks), and cold water.

2. Warm Feet: If your feet are cold, soak feet in warm water for 5-10 minutes to boost blood flow. You can skip this step if you are short on time!

3. Wet Socks: Run cotton socks under cold water and wring them as dry as possible. Put them on your feet, ideally before bed. It is best not to walk around afterwards.

4. Wool Socks: Put dry wool socks (or thick cotton socks) over the wet ones to keep feet warm.

5. Rest: Go to bed, and the socks will be dry in the morning. No worries if you take them off in your sleep ;)
