Why Vinyasa?
The Benefits of a Mind-Body Connection
Vinyasa translated from Sanskrit to English is VIN (to place) and YASA ( in a special way). Yoga comes from the sanskrit word, Yuj which means union, or to yolk. The two words together can be thought of as " breath synchronized intentional movement, connecting individual consciousness to universal consciousness", basically meaning, connecting our mind and body.
Gentle Vinyasa Flow incorporates this thought process and connects movement to breath. Breath Practice or "Pranayama" ( PRANA - "breath or vital energy" AYAMA -"stretch, expand, extend") is a wonderful tool with many benefits when done properly.

Meet Amanda (she/her)
For Amanda, movement is medicine. Amanda’s journey into health and wellness came at a time where life was throwing many curve balls. Amanda found yoga and resonated so much with the discipline of breath, focus and movement that she was inspired to become a certified yoga teacher and share its benefits with others.
Her extensive sports background, infused with her new found grounding with yoga, guided her to continue creating community around movement and its magic. She continues to learn as much as she can about the body and mind connection. Amanda is Yoga, SAOR, Pre / Postnatal and Reiki trained and certified. She is honoured to guide people through movement in a safe and supportive environment.
Amanda is motivated by the healing power of movement, mindfulness and breath work. The supportive connection and community that is created is truly inspiring and something she is proud to be a part of creating. You will experience safe movement delivered with compassion, support and encouragement in her classes.
